The Salmon and Trout Conservation UK

Our parent organisation is the Salmon & Trout Associationwhich was formed in 1903. Full details are on their own website and the following is a short version of their activities.The S&TA is a company limited by guarantee which was granted charitable status in March 2008. It has a UK-wide membership of game anglers, fishery owners/managers, affiliated trades and members of the public with an interest in conserving the aquatic environment and its dependent species. It changed its name in 2015 to the Salmon and Trout Conservation UK which reflects its activities in the field of conservation. It addresses all issues relevant to fisheries legislation and regulation, together with environmental and species management and conservation. It has a close working relationships with Government departments and agencies, advising them over fisheries and angling matters and influencing their decision-making processes on behalf of all those with an interest in the aquatic environment.

So how does S&TC UK operate?

S&TC UK has 100,000 individual and club members throughout the UK within a countrywide Branch network. A small professional staff is based in London supported by many volunteers throughout the country. We have excellent contacts in both Houses of Parliament, the devolved UK Governments and with senior officials in the European Commission.
